This Week at Mott’s Leather Works

The workshop has been busy shaping a fresh batch of hand-stitched wallets, each one made from hides sourced in Botswana. Mott has been experimenting with new dyeing techniques inspired by the deep red earth of the Kalahari — look out for some rich, earthy tones in the pieces releasing later this month.
Conservation Spotlight
We’ve deepened our work with local farmers to make sure every hide is responsibly sourced. By using what would otherwise go to waste, we’re helping reduce pressure on Botswana’s ecosystems while keeping traditional craft alive.
Story from the Bush
Mott often says guiding in the wild taught him to “notice the details that others walk past.” This week, he carried that lesson into the workshop by introducing a new stitch pattern modeled after the weaving of local baskets. It’s a small nod to the traditions that inspire his leatherwork.
On the Horizon
Keep an eye out for a new limited-edition run of belts. Each buckle will be hand-finished, with subtle markings that make no two pieces alike — just the way Mott likes it.
